Who is this degree for?

This BSc Data Science is designed for driven individuals with a STEM background who are ready to build a career in a rapidly growing field. With both a direct entry route and an accessible performance-based admission (PBA) pathway, it is built to support learners from a wide range of backgrounds, whether you are just starting out or looking to formalise your skills.

This program is a strong fit if you are:

The aspiring student: You have just finished sixth form or college, having excelled in subjects like Maths or Computer Science at A-level. You are looking for a practical degree that will turn your academic strengths into a secure, high-demand career and plan to apply through the direct entry route.

The career launcher: You are working in a business role and have discovered a passion for numbers, wanting to pivot into a formal data position. You see the power of data in your current work and are ready to build the technical skills to join the industry, even without a formal academic history in computing.

The career accelerator: You are already working in a junior data or analyst role with practical, self-taught skills. You now need a recognised degree to deepen your knowledge of machine learning and statistical theory, secure a promotion, and unlock more senior data science opportunities.

Performance-based admission (PBA)
Use GCSEs or professional experience to apply for this route and pass PBA modules to secure your place on the full programme.
Direct entry route
Apply for direct admission through our traditional academic pathway, which requires three Level 3 qualifications like A-levels or an equivalent.
A pathway for STEM backgrounds
This degree is built for applicants with a STEM background who are preparing to launch or accelerate a career in the data industry.
Flexible start dates
Plan your start to the programme with flexibility. We offer two intakes each year, allowing you to begin your studies in September or February.
