The International Foundation Programme (IFP) for Computer Science prepares you for degree-level study in key disciplines such as mathematics, statistics and computer programming, while building the academic confidence needed for independent learning.
Designed by the University of London, this programme is an ideal pathway for students who need additional preparation before progressing to the online BSc Computer Science degree on Coursera. Upon successful completion, you will be equipped with the essential knowledge and practical skills to begin your undergraduate studies in Computer Science with confidence.
As technology continues to shape every industry, from business and finance to healthcare, law and the social sciences, you will also develop core technical skills that are valuable across a wide range of career paths. Digital and data skills are now expected in over 80% of jobs across these sectors (UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, 2024).
The International Foundation Programme for Computer Science also meets the entry requirements for a broad selection of University of London undergraduate degrees, including BSc Business Administration, BSc Marketing, BSc Psychology, EMFSS programmes, and LLB. This flexibility allows you to build strong foundational skills while keeping your future study options open.
You will graduate with the skills to pursue an exciting future, whether that is advancing into computer science, where roles are projected to grow by 16% by 2028 (Ginux, 2024), or applying your technical expertise across other sectors.
